Power Button

This application requires root access. Your Android device must be rooted for this application to function.

If you have a task killer installed, please add the Power Button to the ignore list.

If the HUD does not appear or the screen-on feature does not work, simply reopen the app to bring them back.

The application maps your Power Button for easy on-screen access. You can set a widget or notification (HoneyComb and above only) to turn off the screen and open the power menu. These functions can also be accessed within the application.

The application includes a quick setup guide to assist you with understanding its functionality.

The app will attempt to automatically map your power button. If it fails, it will display a list of devices present on your phone. Please select the one that corresponds to your power button. This is because not all devices have their power button mapped under the name "pwr_key". Some devices, like the HTC Wildfire, use "keypad" and so on. Therefore, it is difficult to manually map all possibilities. Please try out each device listed if you are unsure, as one of them is guaranteed to work.

This application has been personally tested by the developer on the Nexus 4 running 4.4 and HTC Wildfire running 2.3.7.

Additionally, this application has been tested by Jasper Guerrero on the following devices: Nexus 4 (4.4.1), Galaxy Y (2.3.6), Galaxy Ace I (2.3.6), CM Titan (4.1), Sky Vega (4.0.4), CM Burst (4.1.2), Galaxy Y 2 (4.1.2), Galaxy S2 (4.2.2), and Galaxy Ace (2.3.7). Thank you, Jasper.

Jasper had the following to say about the application's new version:

• - Response time for screen off is slightly delayed compared to v0.2, both in the status bar and in the widget.

• - Faster mapping process since SU (superuser) permission is granted initially

The slightly slower response time is because there is no background service running that would consume battery. When you access the widget or notification, the app is called upon, it turns off the screen or opens the power menu, and then immediately terminates. Hence, it consumes almost no battery.
